Who We Are

Clare Hyde, Director, MBE
The Foundation for Families was established by Clare in July 2010. Clare was CEO of Calderdale WomenCentre for 14 years (between 1994 and 2009) and developed nationally acclaimed, high quality services and support for at risk women and families. Clare contributed to Baroness Corston’s review of women with vulnerablities in the criminal justice system and WomenCentre provided a blue print for community based alternatives to custody for women offenders.

In 2005, Clare was awarded the MBE in recognition of her contribution to women and children’s services.

Clare also worked for the NHS in a regional improvement role (between2005 and 2011) and led the development and delivery of the Yorkshire and Humber Transformation of Adult Social Care programme during that period. Clare was also the National Institute of Mental Health England (NIMHE) programme lead for the region.

Clare is currently working with local safeguarding children boards and their partners to improve safeguarding outcomes for children and young people living with domestic violence, substance misuse and parental mental illness and to support the development of a multi agency response to children and young people at risk of sexual exploitation.

Clare is currently the Independent Chair for several Serious Case Reviews and has designed and delivered innovative Learning Reviews on behalf of local safeguarding children boards.
